The Fredericksburg Innovative Flute Ensemble, or FIFE, is a flute choir focused on maturing the musical abilities of high school flute players in the Stafford, Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania area by integrating many styles and levels of music, as well as various performance venues into the students’ musical and performance repertoire.

IS THERE A TUITION FOR FIFE?
Currently, there is no tuition or cost to join or participate in FIFE. Funds may be requested in the future to help provide more challenging music for the group.
CAN I VISIT FIFE?
All FIFE rehearsals are open rehearsals. This means anyone is invited to watch or participate. However, only registered students will be allowed to perform.
the director
Abby Weyant is an Instrument Repair Technician and Flute Instructor in the Fredericksburg area. She has a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Band Instrument Repair from MSC- Southeast Technical. She has studied flute under Dr. Jennifer Lapple, Professor of Flute at GMU, and Dr. Beth Chandler, Professor of Flute at JMU.
Currently, Abby plays with the Mid-Atlantic Wind Symphony, and the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic Orchestra. She also plays in the Spotswood Baptist Church orchestra on Sunday mornings.

Please fill out the form below or contact the director via facebook, email, or phone in order to reserve a spot in the ensemble. Students are welcome to join at any point during the semester. There is no number limit or auditions for the ensemble.
